IMPORTANT
MESSAGE FOR MEMBERS WITH ATM/DEBIT CARDS
The government is requiring all financial institutions to comply
with a new Overdraft Regulation that asks the member/customer to
"Opt In" in order to have overdraft coverage (this is NOT a line of
credit). Our ATM and every day debit card transactions are not
authorized to pay overdrafts. Instead the transaction will be
declined if there are not sufficient funds for the transaction.
However, there are times a transaction will post to the account
allowing it to go negative causing an overdraft situation. In order
to honor your ATM/Debit card should you overdraft, we need you to
request overdraft coverage by completing our Overdraft Coverage Opt
In form. If we do not receive the form by July 1, 2010, the card
will be restricted until we have a form on file at Chadron Federal
Credit Union.
To request overdraft coverage for your ATM withdrawals and every
day debit card purchases, or for information please stop by our
office, call us at (308) 432-2588, or
CLICK HERE to print the required form.
Items that are posted to your account that cause an overdraft and
are honored by Chadron Federal Credit Union will be charged a fee of
$25.00 per transaction.

Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa is a free service that
offers online consumers
security that goes beyond the fraud protection
automatically included with a Visa card. The service can be used
with any Visa credit or debit card.

Function |
When making a
purchase at a participating online retailer, Verified by
Visa requires you to input an additional password to
confirm your identity before completing a transaction. |

Activation |
You can activate
Verified by Visa on your card at Visa's website, when
prompted with the option at a participating retailer. |

Personal Message |
Visa points out
that when you sign up for Verified by Visa, you submit a
"personal message." This message appears in your Verified by
Visa window when you are about to make a purchase, to offer
further validation that you are safely and securely
inputting your password. |

Warning |
Visa notes that if
you suspect someone has stolen your Verified by Visa
password, you should immediately contact your card issuer. |

Online Retailers |
As of February
2010, over 100 online retailers are part of the Verified by
Visa program. They include, but are not limited to, WalMart,
Toys R Us, Office Max,
Dell and Delta Airlines. |
