Why Join a Credit Union?Credit Union's are non-profit financial co-operatives owned and operated by its members. When you open an account at a credit union, you become a member and an owner. This means, the profit we make gets returned to you by the way of better interest rates on loans and higher dividends on savings. Each account is insured up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). This makes federal credit unions one of the safest places to deposit your money. When you deposit money into a credit union, funds are immediately deposited into your account, unlike some other financial institutions where you would have to wait until the next business day before it officially hits your account. Combine all this with many of the other great services and products and you can't go wrong with joining a Credit Union. However, there are certain qualifications you must meet in order to become a member. To learn how to become a member of the Chadron Federal Credit Union, just click on About Us.
